Going Hunting!

Well, not in the traditional sense...BUT! I am so excited! Darby's father lives in Florida and has not met Cameron yet. So we are headed out in the morning to make the journey. The dates of our trip just so happen to coincide with Renningers Antique Market. And Darby's dad just so happens to live within an hour of where this antique event is to be held. Wow...we get to see his father AND spend 2 days at what is supposed to be a FABULOUS event! Hopefully many treasures will be found...we also plan to "pick" our way down to Florida...so here we come South Carolina and Georgia! WOOHOO! I will update when we return! Have a fabulous week!

Outdoor Fun

A few days ago, we experienced some wonderful weather. The temperature was on the cooler side, and it was partly sunny. Every now and then some dark clouds would threaten and the wind would kick up, and, you guessed it, I got inspired. So rather than attempt to write poetry, I grabbed my camera, Cameron and the bumbo baby sitter and headed outside for some shots.
Cameron recently began mastering the art of grasping objects,
and this weather-worn brown leaf presented a fine opportunity for him to begin to experience mother nature.
I caught one of him stretching and it makes me think: wouldn't we all be a bit better off if we just sat in our front yards and in a big blue foam chair and stretched? (ok...so that presents quite a mental picture, but hey...in theory....). I really love this close up...what blue eyes! No clue where they came from!!
Hope you all are having a wonderful January thus far.....

Bunnies In My Kitchen

Happy New Year! (albeit a little late...). Many of you know how much I love rabbits. It all started when I was a little girl and asked the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and anyone else who would listen for a "REAL LIVE BUNNY WITH FLOPPY EARS AND SOFT FUR" every single year. As you can imagine, I never got my real live bunny. Fast forward about 15 years to a rinky dink pet shop in Athens, Georgia...home of my fabulous DAWGS. My then-boyfriend and I went to buy his fish some food, and lo and behold, in the back of the pet store there was a kennel with cute, furry lop-eared baby bunnies. I was capitavated. The owner informed me that one of them was a "runt" and was about to become snake food. Well, you guessed it. I whipped out my VISA card and wouldn't you know it, my Daddy bought me a bunny after all. My little ball of fluff came to be known as "Cassie Bunny". His given name was Casmir (prounounced Cashmere). OH, how I loved that rabbit. I had him neutered (lessens aggression supposedly), I walked him with a harness and leash (or would that be "hopped" him???), I created a runway for him in the hall so he could frolic, I took him to grocery in my purse and bought him fresh brussel sprouts and even got him to hop out of a basket one Easter morning. Unfotunately, he died when he was 5, which is a pretty good lifespan for a bunny in captivity. I have adored bunnies ever since. I have lots of bunnies in my house and wanted to share a few of my bunnies with you all...enjoy! PS: The cute red owl was a gift from my friend Stacey. Thank you Stacey!
